Tradition and Passion

about us

Our history and our values

The roots of Baroni del Mestri reach back to the 1600s, when the estate was already being cultivated by past generations. The historic loggia of 1651 tells the story of a love for the land and for agriculture. In 1971, brothers Giampaolo and Massimo, together with their nephews, decided to breathe new life into the vineyards and olive groves, carrying forward a family legacy with passion and dedication. Thanks to the care and attention given to every detail, our name today holds a firm place in the Italian winemaking landscape.

Over the years, Baroni del Mestri has served a loyal clientele of connoisseurs, restaurateurs, and lovers of fine wine and oil. Our visitors, coming from every corner of the world, are welcomed in an atmosphere that is both familiar and professional, where they can explore and taste the treasures of our land. We are proud to contribute to the culture of wine and extra virgin olive oil, forging deep connections through our experiences.

The Loggia of the Baroni del Mestri
In the garden of the estate house, an engraved stone still bears the date and name of the original property: the seventeenth-century loggia is today the distinctive mark of the estate.

The Historic Vineyard
On the southern slope of Monte Quarin, one of the oldest vineyards in the Collio was planted — still in production today and a cru of the estate.

1971

The Cramer Family
The property, which had in the meantime passed to the family of philosopher Carlo Michelstaedter, was purchased by the Cramers, who began the cultivation we know today, adding cherries, pears, and figs to the grape harvest.

The Third Generation
Lorenza, Erica, and Gabriele now stand alongside Giampaolo and Massimo in the day-to-day running of the estate, carrying its story forward to new generations of enthusiasts.

Since 1651

An inscription worn by time yet still legible, telling our story: 1651, the year of the earliest records of this house on Monte Quarin. A silent witness to nearly four centuries of history. The clearest proof that here, since then, history has never stood still.

The same land, the same dedication, the same estate: Baroni del Mestri.

From that stone of 1651 to today, generations have changed, as have techniques, and even the borders of this frontier land. But something has remained untouched: the choice to stay true to the same hillside, to keep working it with the same care as those who came before. First the Baroni del Mestri, then the Cramer family — custodians more than owners of a place that seems to impose its own slow, respectful rhythm on whoever chooses to care for it.

That is why every bottle that leaves this cellar tells not just a vintage, but a sense of belonging: to a land that, for over three hundred years, has never stopped calling itself Tenuta Baroni del Mestri.
